Fresno Yosemite International Airport Receives Industry Award for Social Media Audio Portraits Series

Fresno, CA (December 24, 2019) –  Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) was recently awarded 2nd Place Honorable Mention in the Social Media Campaigns category in the Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) 2019 Excellence in Airport Marketing, Communications, and Customer Service Awards.  The award is in recognition of FATs Audio Portraits series highlighting the unique stories of passengers traveling through the Airport.  The ACI-NA Excellence in Airport Marketing, Communications, and Customer Service Awards recognizes the quality of work, abundance of talent, and creativity within the marketing, communications, and customer service field of the airport industry.

“Our industry’s ability to tell the dynamic and compelling story of airports is extremely important to helping us advance as an industry,” said ACI-NA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke.  “Airports like Fresno Yosemite International Airport are going above and beyond in connecting with their passengers and amplifying their message about the airport’s essential role in their local communities. ACI-NA is delighted to applaud the innovative work and the talented individuals who are telling our industry’s story.”

Marketing campaigns featuring authentic content such as the Audio Portraits series builds relationships with travelers and the community.  Infusing FATs brand in messaging supports efforts that effectively promote California’s Central Valley and its continued growth. As FAT continues to expand an online presence, the use of social media platforms has elevated the Airport’s profile on a national level, essential in keeping pace with other airports in a competitive market.  Online media and other marketing tools used by FAT to capture a wide-audience and drive usage has successfully resulted in increased interest in the region’s air transportation gateway.

“To be acknowledged by industry peers nationwide for our programs designed to engage with the public demonstrates real tangible results of necessary and effective marketing, which is an important part in sustaining and growing Fresno Yosemite International Airport as a major engine of economic development and job creation,” said Director of Aviation Kevin Meikle. “All resulting in increased ridership, effective promotion and a positive airport experience.”

Fresno Yosemite International Airport was among 90 airports to participate in the ACI-NA awards program with more than 300 entries in 19 categories.
