“The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will soon be implementing a Safety Management System (SMS) at airports. SMS is a program for promoting safety and reducing risk to employees and is comprised of four components - safety policy, safety risk management, safety assurance, and safety promotion. The use of SMS helps airports apply methods to proactively identify and mitigate hazards as well as ensures continuous monitoring of safety. Safety is Fresno Airport System's highest priority and the responsibility shared by the entire Airport community.
