Fresno Yosemite International Airport Announces New Airports Operations Manager

Fresno, CA – Alicia Mirando has been named Airports Operations Manager for Fresno Yosemite International Airport. Ms. Mirando will be responsible for the overall management of the Airports Operations Division. As Airports Operations Manager, Ms. Mirando will manage federal and state compliance matters and the operation of airfield and facility infrastructure.

Ms. Mirando’s impressive aviation background includes Air Force Services Flight Training Center at Yokota Air Base in Japan, and at commercial airports in the states of Colorado, Washington and California. She brings over a decade of experience in airfield planning, operations, safety and security compliance, air traffic control procedures and flight crew management. Having formerly served as an Airports Operations Officer at Fresno Yosemite International from 2011 – 2013, Ms. Mirando is knowledgeable with the airport’s environment and its operations.

“We are pleased to have Ms. Mirando return in a leadership role to oversee operations at Fresno Yosemite International Airport which handles over 100,000 annual aircraft movements,” said Director of Aviation Kevin Meikle. “Her extensive aviation experience will significantly contribute to maintaining the airport’s facilities and infrastructure to support continued passenger growth and increased aircraft activity.”

Most recently, Ms. Mirando served as the Airport Duty Manager at Boeing Field King County International Airport in Seattle, Washington, which handles some of the largest commercial aircraft in the world.

Ms. Mirando earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Aviation Management with a Minor in Computer Science from Metropolitan State College of Denver and is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Aviation from the University of North Dakota. She is a member of the American Association of Airport Executives.

Fresno Yosemite International Airport currently offers Valley passengers daily non-stop flights to Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Guadalajara, Mexico on domestic and international carriers. Fresno Yosemite International Airport is a municipally owned entity operating as a self-supporting enterprise. No City of Fresno general funds are used to operate Fresno Yosemite International Airport or Fresno Chandler Executive Airport.
