Volaris Expands List of International Destinations Between Fresno Yosemite International Airport and MexicoNonstop service between Fresno and León, Mexico to begin in the fall Fresno, CA (September 4, 2019) – Ultra low-cost airline Volaris will add another popular international destination between Fresno Yosemite International Airport (FAT) and Mexico with the launch of nonstop service to León (BJX), Mexico beginning October 29, 2019. The introduction of twice weekly flights to León, located in the Guanajuato state in the Bajío region, will be timely with the 2019 holiday travel season and expands a third gateway from California’s Central Valley to the Mexico region including Guadalajara and Morelia. Nonstop air service between Fresno Yosemite International Airport and Mexico continues to demonstrate strong demand and opportunities for growth. Fresno Yosemite International Airport currently ranks fourth in the nation for serving Mexico’s Guadalajara region. Service from Fresno to Guadalajara, Morelia and the surrounding region represents for 13 percent of the Airport’s annual passenger traffic. “The addition of a third international destination is a significant air service milestone and reflects the increased demand for nonstop flights from the Central Valley to Mexico and beyond,” said Director of Aviation Kevin Meikle. “We are pleased that our airline partner Volaris continues to meet this demand by introducing new cities, such as León, with convenient nonstop flights to support the expanding air service needs of our growing region.” “At Volaris, the most important thing is our Customers.
