Fresno Yosemite International Airport Barber Nick Palomares Celebrates Milestone Anniversary

Fresno, CA (June 16, 2017) – Nick Palomares is celebrating 45 years of operating his iconic barbershop at Fresno Yosemite International Airport and continuing to provide repeat clients and frequent walk-ins with a unique haircutting experience in an airport environment.

After serving in the military as a U.S. Navy Signalman, Mr. Palomares attended and completed barber college in Fresno, California. He then relocated to San Francisco’s popular Nob Hill where he began a long-standing profession in barbering and catering to regular clients and occasional walk-in celebrities such as famed singer-songwriter John Lennon.

In June 1972, Mr. Palomares opened his barbershop at Fresno Yosemite International Airport where throughout the years he established a long list of repeat clients with many transpiring into close friendships spanning well over 40 years. With its prominent location ideal for people watching, Mr. Palomares developed a flair for spotting celebrities traveling through the airport. As a result, the barbershop doubles as an impressive photo gallery including Mr. Palomares posing with famous faces such as Jay Leno and Chuck Norris. Every inch of wall space chronicles decades of hometown celebrities and movie stars.

“There are not too many airport barbers around today, so I’m excited to have been operating my business at Fresno Yosemite International Airport for the past 45 years and continuing a journey that has led to many friendships, witnessing the transition of our terminal over time and being connected to the air travel industry,” said Nick Palomares.

Mr. Palomares’ has been featured on local television news and in local and national publications including American Photographer magazine highlighting his growing collection of celebrity photos.

Fresno Yosemite International Airport currently offers Valley passengers daily non-stop flights to Dallas, Denver, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Portland, Salt Lake City, San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, and Guadalajara, Mexico on domestic and international carriers. No City of Fresno general funds are used to operate Fresno Yosemite International Airport or Fresno Chandler Executive Airport.
